See You In September!

Tue Sep 13, 2005, 4:52 PM
Hey all!

*blowns the dust off his DA gallery and coughs* Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! It seems like I have neglected my duties.... AGAIN!

Sad, isnt it? I know, I know. I apologize but I got some things I wanted to share and I guess I have been so busy this past summer that I forgot about it!

Well, let's start with early summer:

The month of MAY came around and the buzz of STAR WARS III was getting louder and louder until the night I worked the midnight shift at my theatre. 4 threates, packed with people came to see the "last" installment of the series and some of them proved to be the biggest Star Wars fans of them all! Besides having kids and various adults dress up, we actually had an official (yes you heard me!) Stormtroopers squad arrive and take pictures with guests! It was exciting! It was loud! It was over before I knew it!

It was wild for a few weeks before the fans started to only show up in small groups before only a handful of people saw the movie before it finally left. So I was around for Star Wars Ep. II (back in 2002 at my old theatre) and now three years later, I was around for Star Wars Ep. III. *chuckles* I know it doesnt sound like much, but it will be one experience I will enjoy remembering. *smiles*

Now comes June, and my excitement grows as people were all flocking to see Star Wars, I was getting excited to see Batman Begins and... after about 15 years of waiting.... I was going to get to see HERBIE (the lovable LOVE BUG, #53!) on the BIG screen! And I did my best to see both movies as many times as I could (even if it was just popping my head in while cleaning the threates). It was great and I am very happy that I was able to see Herbie on the big screen after all the years I have come to know him and enjoy him. Batman Begins was an awesome piece that really made me happy! It brought the character back to his roots and made me wish for a seuqel! Yes, I know. That can be a good thing or a bad thing, but I hope the people behind BEGINS will have the same magic in the next movie. At least that is what I hope. *chuckles*

Also in June was BORED OF THE WORLDS... er, I mean War of the Worlds. Yes. I have to admit, as big of a fan of Speilberg as I am, I thought this one was lame and got erratating at points (like Dakota Fanning's character screaming over and over as the aliens attack. It is understandable in some sense, but it got over used and made me want to leave her on the side of the road and hope the aliens leave from her screaming!). Dont get me wrong, I think Fanning is a wonderful actress... she just needs to get better parts. Let's hope DREAMER, her next movie, will be MUCH better than this lamefest. Sorry Steve, Tom, you guys are great but this movie just plained SSSSSSSSTUNK! If you havent seen WOTW, I suggest you dont. Watch something more entertaining, like JAWS or INDIANA JONES..... something pre-WOTW...... (If ya liked the movie, then more to ya! And I am done on that)

Now comes July, it is a more exciting time as things build for the con of the year.... one for the furry in all of us!.... the one they call ANTHROCON! Yes, this was my 3rd year at AC and this was my most favorite! Why? While besides the theme being something I personal love (HEROES), it was also the time to meet up with my bro and finally, after about 3-4 years of chatting, my sister ! It was amazing and I gotta say they were very cool and very cool that they didnt get annoyed at me for being such a pest! And yes, I was, MG and Tol! So there! Naaaaaah! *chuckles* But I also got to meet up with some other people that I wanted to meet up like HeroG, Dameon Chipmunk, Wolfgang Wolf, SolidAsp, Cutter Badger, and even Chronos Coon! I also got to meet up with some new people like Ollis and Mr. Lean, both of whom were very cool!! I look forward to next year where I might meet up with everyone again (and meet more people!). At least that is what I am hoping. *chuckles* I am really hoping to meet up with bro, Tolstoy at a convention in Chicago this November. But it is still too early so we shall wait and see, yes?

Nothing much happened in July other than Fantastic Four, which was a good movie though I didnt get to see it until August. The same goes for SKY HIGH, despite being a Disney movie (as some people might groan at), it was a very good and very cool movie! Makes me wonder if they will do SKY HIGH 2? (Well, with the characters starting their first year of high school, I am sure they can squeeze three more movies! *chuckles*) But overall, these movies were good and highly recommended if you love superheroes and enjoy being a kid again! Seriously. *smiles*

Now comes August, and we have some problems..... With the theatre not doing well in sells and my hours slowly being reduce, I find myself with some problems. We less money, I cant pay rent.... cant pay bills.... or survive. This past May/June, my van suffered from a broken fuel pump (which was my own fault) and cost me a pretty penny to fix. Luckily, the business was picking up and I was getting a lot of hours.... but that was then... this was August. So, trying to see if I could get a second job, I applied for a call center position in the local area. I was hired on the spot! Can you believe that? It was great! I now would get a good paying job and be able to afford rent, bills, etc! But the training would be 4 weeks and I would have to wait until Sept. 9th to get my first check. Still, it was worth it and I jumped on. Since I didnt have to train right away, I decided to use my time to go visit family in Michigan. It was a great couple of days (it was all I could afford to take at the time)! I got to go the northern part of the state and swim in the lake that I have swam every summer (up until 2000 when I started working). I also got some other parts fixed on my van including tierods and U-Joints. For those not sure of those parts, let's just say without them I couldnt drive the car. *smiles* But wait! What about my job at the theatre? Well, I am still working there and will hopefully be able to keep both jobs. We will see. I dont know how the hours will be between the two, but until I know for sure, I am going to keep both.

So, in mid-August, I started training at my new job and after four weeks of training.... I passed and was now able to work with customers! Today (Sept. 13th), was my first day really working for the company and boy was it nerve wrecking! I could go into details with what happened, but it isnt worth the space. *chuckles* But yes, I am now working both jobs and we will see how it turns out.

Now, it is SEPTEMBER, and with the 15th coming up, I am getting a bit excited. Why? Well, you might have to wait and see. *chuckles* But September looks like the month when things turn around (though I did suffer a flat on my van around the 6th of September and had to replace it, but let's hope that will be it... fur now).

I got a new piece posted and I hope to work more on my art as well as my stories and songs. We will see if any of this comes true. I know in the past I have tried to work better at getting my act together and posting new art, just havent been inspired (or really want to post my awful works on here). But we shall see, wont we? *chuckles* But that's about it. Besides having some emotional problems, which I know NO ONE wants to hear, everything is been going all right.

I had a good summer and I am hoping this Fall will be better and more enjoyable than it was last year. *chuckles*

Well, with those last words, I bid you all a fond fare well! Take care everyone and have a good one!! This is WereArcanine, signing off and saying *begins to sing* "See yoooooou..... in September! When the summer's through!"

Okay, to attack in expert mode you have to press L+R, then circle and square, then batman symbol, whilst eating an apple washed 13 times under salt water from the Atlantic ocean, at the precise time the sun rises. Simple, yes?
